When the British Army Does Confetti

Phil and Amy had their wedding in the late Spring of 2016 at Skylark Golf Club in Whiteley and this is the first time we had come across confetti cannon. 

We saw what looked like five tubes of wrapping paper stood on their ends in the barn. These were in fact the confetti cannon that were to turn the skies around the Skylark pretty colours and cause navigation issues for aircraft approaching Southampton International Airport.

Quite honestly two cannon would have been plenty. Five was spectacularly over the top. Some of Phil's groomsmen were Army boys. I think they thought they were laying down covering fire for their best friend and groom. Just look how high the confetti went. It was way above the height of the barn and it took ages for the skies to clear.

The confetti cannon was certainly spectacular but so were other parts of their day.

Their ceremony was really touching and we all choked up as they read their vows to each other. They were so heartfelt.

The decor in the barn was absolutely stunning.

Afterwards we took them to the ruins of Titchfield Abbey for some romantic portraits...

...and a picnic in the Campervan.

They both looked amazing.

The Boys had kept one confetti cannon back for Phil to fire. Confetti cannon never disappoint! 

After the speeches they were treated to a beautiful sunset...most of the confetti had cleared by then.

 Then it was back inside for their First Dance.

It was a brilliant day that was full of fun...and confetti. We will always remember it as the day the British Army filled the skies over Skylark with confetti.

Romantic Theatricals at Warbrook

Nick and Charlotte had a wonderfully romantic Spring wedding at Warbrook. Both Nick and Charlotte were into the theatre, in fact it's how they met, and many of their guests were into it too...

...including Nick's three Best Men, and it made for a fantastically fun day.

Charlotte's Dad was justifiably the proudest man at their wedding...

...and Nick's Best Men were some of the funniest men at their wedding.

Nick and Charlotte were welcomed down the Warbrook steps to confetti and bubbles...

...then it was group shots in the sun...

...then inside for drinks, canapés and amazing magic by the fabulous professional magician Sean Boon.

Then it was back outside for some romantic portraits in the sun...

...in the magnificent Warbrook grounds.

Then it was inside for their meal...

...and amazingly funny speeches.

The Boys were a great bunch and full of crazy stories from their Stag weekend.

One such story explained the significance of this twenty pence piece.

The Boys were overwhelmed with emotion when they saw Nick's wedding ring.

The bench that Charlotte is sat on in this photo is destined for their garden and is signed with good wishes from their guests. As you can see, Charlotte is posing beautifully for the cameras...and Nick isn't.

Even more strange expressions were the order of the day in their photo-booth.

But when it came to the First Dance it was grace and elegance and romance all the way.

Nick and Charlotte were absolutely fantastic together and they thoroughly enjoyed their day. It was a wedding full of fun and laughter and affection...and it was an absolute joy to be part of it.

Awesome Weather & Awesome Venues - Southbourne & Goodwood Wedding

Colin and Karen had the most fantastic day for their Spring wedding. They were married in Southbourne Church and then they moved to Goodwood for some romantic portraits and their reception.

But first Karen had the talents of professional make up artist Natasha Wiggins to make her look perfect...

 ...whilst Colin was in the garden with his Dad, who seemed to be in a celebratory mood, at the thought of getting rid of him?

The Boys all had their own but matching cufflinks.

 ...and the girls looked amazing and ready to rock.

 Colin was delighted when he first saw Karen walking up the aisle to him.

Then it was into the sun for a blizzard of confetti...

 ...and more photographs in the sun. Then it was off to Goodwood...

 

Goodwood House is an epic location...

...perfect for a romantic portrait session

...and so grand and elegant...

Colin and Karen really enjoyed each other's company and it was amazing to photograph them in such an awesome location...

 ...and the weather was perfect.

They had their reception and party at the Goodwood Hotel, just round the corner from Goodwood House and they couldn't have asked for a better venue.

It was a awesome day in every way: the weather, the venues, the people...and most of all, Colin and Karen themselves. They were an awesome bride and groom.

Congratulations to them both and we were so pleased to have been part of their day

Highlights of our 2013 Weddings

2013 was a fantastic year for us and in putting together some highlights we hardly know where to begin. But the first notable thing was the weather, 2013 was a spectacularly good Summer.

We didn't just have amazing weather we had romance...

...and intimate moments.

We had grooms in fast cars, this groom got to drive his friend's Mercedes SLS...

...and this groom got a Ferrari California.

We also had fabulous brides...

...fizzing in expectation before their ceremony...

...during Bridal Prep.

We've had brides on stairs...

...on grass...

...in amazing venues...

...and even on a vintage fire escape of an ageing cricket pavilion we found just round the corner from the venue.

We had a groom secretly bring the bride's horse to the wedding. It was a complete surprise to the bride and guests until after the ceremony.

We even had a blue rhino at a wedding...it was actually part of a series of rhino sculptures funded by Marwell Zoo for charity during the Autumn.

We even had a wedding on Red Nose Day.

We had a groom on a Buckeroo ride...

...and a bride at the cricket crease...

...and the "boys" against a cricket sight screen.

We've had glorious sun and fabulous venues.

We've had cosy Christmas weddings.

We've had drama...

...and fun...

...and elegance...

...and style...

...great groups...

...and fantastic confetti

...and private moments.

We've had reflections in mirrors....

...and reflections in water...

...and reflective moments...remembering loved ones.

We've had walks through Spring petals...

...and walks through the grounds of grand venues.

We've had fabulous cakes...

...and creative themes.

We had special moments in the last few minutes of daylight...

...and even just after the sun had gone down.

Even after dark and in the rain, we had some great times. Here the groom wanted a shot with himself and his groomsmen looking at the pocket watches he'd given them as presents.

Of all the special weddings we had in 2013, surely the most extraordinary was the hand-fasting ceremony at Stonehenge at sunset just after the Summer Solstice.

We had lovely weddings at lovely venues...but best of all we had lovely couples...

...whose love for each other was a privilege to witness.

Jacqui and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our couples, all their guests and all their wedding professionals for our time with them during 2013...it was indeed an exceptional year.
